THE MOVE IS ON

Just popping in to say hello. As you all know by now, we are on our way back to the U.S. *Yipee*

Our belongings have been packed and placed onto the truck, everything went extremely smooth, for which we are grateful. Sometime in the coming week our things will be transferred to the crate and readied for travel to the Port of Maracaibo, then inspection by the National Guard. Once everything is approved it will be crane lifted onto the boat and readied to set sail.

(This company did a fabulous job, very professional. We were extremely pleased with their team of workers)
(There´s my dining table)

There was one bit of complication in getting a large piece of furniture down from our 15th floor apartment, it took a couple of days to figure out and we ended up having to remove one of the legs, which was no easy task since it was permanently assembled. It is in the moving companies workshop for repair and should be ready sometime around the first of next week, then crated with our other belongings.

All is well as we wait for our departure at the end of the month. In the meantime, there are a few things to keep us busy. I am keeping up with laundry and trying to be creative with meals, though we are doing one meal a day out. Everything that we are not taking back with us has been either sold or gifted to someone, except an amoire that we still need to sell. Other than that it is life as usual around here. Of course there is sadness at leaving the many loved ones behind, but we are thrilled to see what new things God has for us.

I will update when I can.....

Such a feat moving is and that is from one house to another within the same city....I can only imagine the undertaking when moving from one country to another!!

Although I am sure that it is sad for you to have to leave loved ones there, I can only imagine the excitement you must feel being able to return to your homeland!!

I wish you safe and adventurous travel and will await your next blog session!!

Glad you checked in Michaelene. The past couple of church services have been difficult as the time approaches our departure. I will be glad when this part is over. It is hard...
Keep checking in, I will try my best to keep my blog updated as time allows.

Oh yes, I will continue checking for updates. It's fun for me to know where you are in this journey!!

I think I know what you mean, about being glad when this part is over. I am not good at saying good byes....I really feel for the people you are leaving. I'm sure they will miss you immensely!! Always harder for the people staying behind.

Safe travels and I will hear from you when you have time....and computer access : ) !!

i'm so excited that ur moving back to the US! you have no i dea! i was talking to paree the other day, about it though, i can see clearly that as much as she dislikes living in venezuela, the friendships she's leaving behind are sure to suffer from it. God bless you guy for all that you do.

Danielle, thank you for your sweet comment. You are right, leaving the relationships is truely the most difficult part. I am sure you can imagine what it is like leaving our precious church family, but we know that it is time for them to pick up where we left off. It´s like letting go of your children once they are ready to leave the nest...thanks for stopping by.
