PLACES IN VENEZUELA

(A view into town from our hotel. Looking into the center of this picture you will see the church steeple, this is the center of the little town of La Puerta)

La Puerta, (meaning The Door), is a small rustic town situated along the Andes mountain range in a little valley in the state of Trujillo. It is a charming place that we have come to enjoy visiting through the years.
(The following pictures are shots from the hotel and property where we stay during our visit)

(Beautiful)

Our city, Maracaibo, in the state of Zulia, has an average temperature of 80 degrees and extreme humidity, so from time to time we need to find a place of refreshment. The climate in La Puerta is perfect for us (just the right amount of chill for a bit of bundling).

During the Spring and Fall we have made a tradition of visiting during the first week of May and last week in October.
(A neighborhood around town)

La Puerta is a delightful town and the Andean people of that area are gentle and kind. It is one of the most beautiful places in Venezuela, and about four hours from our city, the closest mountain getaway to Maracaibo.

(Pretty Views)

Trujillo, is one of the three states that make up the Andean Mountain chain in Venezuela. There are many beautiful rustic towns to visit along the mountain passses, with much farmland to be enjoyed along the way.

(A little shopping)

Trujillo is the smallest of the Andean states, in Venezuela. It has kept the charm of old spanish colonial towns, which has a sense of peace that makes it attractive.

Oh it does indeed look like a great little town.

Ugh...with the humidity you mentioned I can absolutely see why you would need a respite.

Looks like the perfect place to escape to!!
